The Chamber has produced various iterations of this report since 1993, highlighting and addressing education-related matters.
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce remains steadfast in its commitment to quality public education across the region. The 2024 Chamber Education Report is the product of months of work by a dedicated committee of community leaders, who met weekly over nearly six months to engage with presenters from both local and state levels. This report gleans those discussions, offering an informed perspective on the topic; highlighting achievements and opportunities within Metro Nashville Public Schools.
We extend our sincere gratitude to five committee members who have completed two consecutive years of service with the Education Report.
We honor the contributions of Brandon Hill, Jennifer Gamble, Jeffrey Takiue, Jozef Lukey, and Tanaka Ross, who will be rotating off the committee following the completion of this report. Their dedication has been instrumental, and we look forward to their continued engagement as they track the progress of the 2024 Recommendations with MNPS.
This report would not be possible without the support and collaboration of MNPS.
We’re grateful for the assistance of Michael Cass, Director of Strategic Communications and MNPS liaison to the committee. We also extend our sincerest thanks to the faculty, staff, and students at Whites Creek High School and Hillsboro High School. Visiting these schools remains a critical component of the Chamber Education Report process, and we commend the outstanding work happening daily within Metro Schools.
We are also immensely grateful to the Chamber staff who provide essential support to the committee’s efforts.

Special thanks to Stephanie Coleman, President & CEO; Daryl Curry, Chief Talent Development Office; Evann Vrana-Gerber, Director of Education & Workforce Partnerships; Laurel Herrell, Project Director of New Skills Ready; Bailey Davis, Manager of Workforce Initiatives; Amanda Hanson, Coordinator of Talent Development; and our Communications Team—Sara Zakhary, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications; Malick Gaye, Director of Communications; Nate Hutcheson, Manager of Creative Services; and Nicole Miller, Manager of Content Marketing—for ensuring this report is polished and finalized.

Thank you to our full 2024 Education Report committee.

The 2024 Chamber Education Report represents the collective efforts of many individuals.

We hope it inspires dialogue and action to advance the progress of public education while serving as a valuable resource for education stakeholders and all Nashvillians.
